Darnell of the Cleveland, TN Police Dept. has asked us to post the folloing on this web site....... My name is Mark Darnell. I am an Investigator with the Cleveland, Tennessee Police Department (the city where Scott Raines lives and conducts business). As you may be aware, I am investigating the activities of Mr. Raines in regards to his mobile home moving business. Although the majority of the cases could be called civil in nature, there appears to be a definite pattern of fraudulent business dealings. Although most of the incidents occurred outside of my jurisdiction, I am compiling information to add to my case file and would like anyone who feels as though they have been the victim of a fraud to . The information that you provide will be used to prepare an official police report of your incident and I will reply with a report number and information on how to obtain a copy of the report. Please include the following information when replying:   * Date that the incident occurred (if exact date is unknown, please give a rough time-line) * Name * Home and business address with phone numbers for both * Sex and race * Date of birth * Driver's license number * Total dollar amount of loss (please explain how the figure was arrived at) * A brief narrative to include the following information:   * How Raines was chosen to perform the contracted task * What was the contracted task, total charge for the service, and estimated time from start to completion * Was the contract verbal or is there a hard-copy of the contract * Was the agreement/contract agreed to by phone, internet, or in person * If a deposit was paid, how was the cash delivered? (Western Union, credit card, mailed check, wire transfer, cash, etc.) * Efforts to get Raines to complete task (phone calls, e-mails and rough estimate of how many), and Raines response   * If you have hard copies of the following: contracts, cancelled checks or other financial documentation, e-mails, etc. please gather these items. I may have to have you fax or mail copies of them to me to add to the file (and would certainly need them for any criminal prosecution) Thanks to Det. We have found more folks who say Raines has ripped them off too. So far, for whatever reasons, we don't have the okay to post their stories, but they are out there.  Apparently, Apfie's most recent site, MoveIt4U.com, has been taken down. I'm sure he'll have another no in no time. Many people have had some very bad experiences with "Alfie Scott Raines" of Cleveland, TN who has had several websites/businesses under various business & domain names. Some we are familiar with are Alfie's Mobile Home Transport, Nationwide Mobile Home Transport, imove4you.com, house4trade.com & Associated Movers Inc. The most current website has pictures of new clean trucks & is a nicely developed website giving the impression of professionalism. If you have ever done business with Raines, you know this is just a false front. Read about the people he stole from. 3/5/06 We were recently made aware that Scott Raines has started a new website & transport business! MoveIt4U.com is the domain name & Victory Transport Services is the name of the site. Box 447 Herndon, Va 20172-0447 Phone: 570-708-8780  If you doubt the above site belongs to Scott Raines, this is proof it does. A few days ago I emailed using the 'estimate link' from  MovedIt4U.com where I accused him of being a scum. I recieved an email back that said I must have him confused with someone else...wanted to know why I would try to ruin his business.... suggested I call him..." and signed the email 'Jeremy'.  I replied "... If I am wrong, I apologize & will publically retract everything if you are in no way connected to Scott Allen Raines of Cleveland TN. If you are not connected, read www.MobileHome-Mover.com & you will see why I am upset" He has not replied to me. An associate of ours who is very techy, has determined the origination of the email from 'Jeremy' is Cleveland, TN, the home of Scott 'Alfie' Allen Raines. So he continues to steal from well meaning hard working folks, just under a new name. Did you know that if you go to his site & click on any banners, he may make money from it? He has banned me (& others) from posting on his message board because I posted that he owed us money. Truth hurts. If you are a victim of Alphie Scott Raines,   .Tell us your story. So far I have personally talked to 5 others who lost to Scott Raines for services he never provided. The total is $26,000. $9K of this was recovered by 2 parties, but only with the help of law enforcement.   There are many more folks out there that have been scammed. If you are one,  put the screws to this crooked manufactured mobile home transport operation! My goal is for everyone of his victims to recover their money, or see Scott Alfie Raines out of business & in jail. There are many honest reputable mobile home movers in many states. We welcome you to let us know about them. We would also like to include tear down & set-up crews you have had experience with.
